Just a little card…

I was introduced to my first scrapbooking lesson at a local craft store in my small home country town.Chook scraps is a local craft store full of innovative ideas for any scrapbooking, card making and stamping – decorative hobbies, supplying quality supplies and kits for even the new hobbyist. Read Chook scraps blog here. I’ve been collecting so many wonderful coloured sheets of paper for so long I could probably open my own craft store. Never having done the practical side, myself and my sister enrolled in a class. What fun! It truly is a new concept of design for me,one I would call therapeutic. There are so many templates and designs available that it’s only up to your imagination and your creative mind that’s stopping you from making so many things.Following the guide from our teacher, we tackled our first attempt in this paper fantasy world. Innovation

To make changes by introducing something new. Innovate. With enthusiasm and a small adventure in hand, myself and my best friend Trish were asked to judge a local art show “Art in the Park” in the south west town of Busselton, Western Australia. I’ve shown photo’s of this beautiful Aussie paradise before in my mosaic photo post here. The photo in the middle is the Busselton jetty. This annual event was celebrating it’s 51st year, with over three hundred entries.  With a beautiful sunny morning, we started out early and on arrival we were greeted with a wonderful, inspiring and talented display of local and south west region artists, who had used every medium, every imaginable colour on the colour palette and an array of subject matter. Our choice on behalf of the Hemsley family was the award for the most innovative. Our choice was a painting done by local artist Denny Sanbrook.
