One of the first vivid images I have of seeing the magnificent Dolomites was on my initial holiday here in Italy. I hadn’t seen anything like this wondrous, spectacular mountain cluster before. There’s such a magical feeling when you see this mountain range, I just stared in awe at it’s beauty.   Having the opportunity to visit again this special place, we take a drive to see the “queen of the dolomites”, the highest peak in this range, Mount Marmolada. Her highest point 3343m…my feet stay on the ground, and better to have a  lot of climbing experience to see her great beauty close up. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. A getaway…

This picturesque scene is by a lake on our way to Rasun di Sotto, located in the Anterselva Valley.Close to the Italian – Austrian borders. Surrounded by the Dolomites mountain range – a UNESCO World Heritage site, it’s simply a getaway with nature and a wonderful place to explore the adventure with nature and all it’s beauty. Our destination was for Hotel Alpenhof. The family Preindl share a truly home- country feeling in this hotel, a warm welcomed feeling as soon as you enter this magical place.They share their love of South Tyrolean tradition, and you find a mixture of mystical past and magical present facilities and decor. The original building was built in 1580,it was a farmstead, and there are still many original artifacts displayed in many corners of the hotel.
