Our Summer days are here, and how I long for blue oceans, waves and a little vacation time. Sun, sand, beaches,an Australian slogan from a sun protection campaign: slip,slop,slap always comes to mind,pebbled beaches,and shells…shells!When I see shells, my minds reflections are always of Summer. For the last few weeks I’ve had a Summer blue and white theme throughout my home…summer dinner table settings, ocean themes, and here is my shell starfish.This is my first tutorial, and wanted to share this with you my friends…time is precious I know, but if you can find an afternoon to dabble in a few things creative,this shell starfish is for you… Materials to start with,you’ll need a Styrofoam star, hot glue gun and a variety of shells,and I used neutral coloured ribbon cream and grey.   Cut a 10cm long piece of ribbon and make a loop at one point of the star with your hot glue… Proceed to cover the whole styrofoam star in a wider ribbon,winding and gluing as you go around the five points and move …

My dreams of a blue and white country style kitchen are still playing in my mind…until that one comes true! Not fun ripping out the entire kitchen to start again! I’ll play around the theme of blue and white, where I can add accessories and have fun with table settings, bathroom accessories, shells, sand, lighted candles and creative starfish giving a Summer ocean blue hue to my home.My Summer ocean blue table setting can be found in detail here Accessorizing in the bathroom, is made easy by changing coloured hand embroidered  ocean motif hand towels and shower towels, add some shells and scented perfume bottles giving freshness to the room.   The talents of creative hands, just couldn’t resist him!   Inclusion in any ocean theme, of course is fresh seafood. For the summer months the availability and variety of fresh fish and crustaceans is at it’s best. Ocean Table Bliss

The Summer weather is here, and believe me I’m enjoying every minute of it. The ocean blues,fine white beach sand, shells, and candlelight set the mood for a great Summer feeling to a table setting. Easy entertaining… A photo of a ocean scene or a memorable holiday photo,gives that personal touch to an easy conversation – fun holiday memories… I added a glass vase with mixed sized shells… A white linen tea towel makes a great centre table runner, I used as a base white plates, that way any colour scheme can be immerged into the setting. I added blue and white side plates and blue glassware… I had scallop shells saved away,and these are a great ocean theme accessory, place one facedown, and rest the other on top, place a small tea lamp candle inside. These are also great accessories for outside partying, lighting a pathway or around the table at ground level. Using blue napkins…now here’s a personal choice..yes I love white linen “real napkins” but  with the unlimited use of paper napkins with their colors and …
