Can you remember your 10th Birthday?
Grade Five where were you? Those innocent days of calling girlfriends talking for hours, swapping magazines ( Dolly!!), Pony tails and pig tails, laughter, giggling. What joy!
My nieces sleepover beach party was organized last week..and what a week. Invitations were sent out the first day back at school.
We had such fun creating things for her Beach theme party, using a mix of bright c o l o u r s from the decorations to the food. Crafty things, party games, movies and sleepovers. We had a lot to prepare…
Read on and see what fun we did have…
We started out with the biggest project of making our 10 year olds birthday cake. So many ideas..seashells,mermaids,beach and ocean scenes. Myself and my sister decided on cupcakes, with her expertise in making a decorative top for the tiered cake.
We even made the cupcake casings made with beautiful paper, jewels and crystals. The cupcakes were chocolate fudge with a cream cheese icing and a Belgium chocolate seashell on top.
The top of the cake was made with the same chocolate fudge cake mix, made in two small silicone moulds and made into an open shell with mermaid, seashells and pearls.
We made the usual party food things and also some healthy throw ins, everyone had fun and the table was an array of rainbow colours.
Isn’t this coloured alfoil for cooking, gift and craft a fantastic fun idea!
We made strawberries and cream, a fun fruity sweet…
We then had fun with games…pin the flower on the mermaid…
And then had fun with scrapbooking techniques covering boxes and doorknob hangers…
And a lolly filled piñata…
All in all a wonderful day and evening with eight little angels.
Hope you had a fun weekend…

What a PERFECT party. Kudos to you and your sister for making your niece’s 10th birthday such a remarkable success. She is lucky to have such a wonderful aunt.

That looks like so much fun. Love the cupcakes! 🙂
When I was 10 they had just come over on the mayflower. It looks like a great party!
What a great party! So colorful and full of fun! And all the good food and desserts! Children are such fun to be around. Blessings to you, Yvette…
Fabulous, so special for the lucky girl 🙂
I may steal the invitation idea — so cute. It’s very cold here in North America so it’s nice to be reminded of the beach!
