I’m on a Mission

Day 1 & 2  Behind the Scenes “When you have something to write, get on with it.” So, that’s what I have intention of doing, just going with the flow. I’m participating in Kims & Xanthes Behind the Scenes: A creative guide to blogging your Passion on line course. With Kim & Xanthe at my side, we’re part of a group of innovative and creative souls. Inspiration flowing from all over the world. We’ve only just started, but there’s such enthusiasm and strong energy I know I’m going to enjoy this journey. As I’ve been only blogging for a couple of years, ‘blogging’ was a means of communicating with family and friends, of showing them where I lived in Italy, sharing my new culinary cuisine and the extreme climate changes, so different of what I was used to in Australia. Moving to another country has really ‘changed’ me, in so many ways. I have said it before and still to this day, moving to another country, with a different language, customs and politics wasn’t easy, …

Coming up Old Country Roses

Trio Royal Albert : Yellow Rosebud I have a few passions in my life…(she smiles) is it more than a few, when you need both hands and feet to count. The first few on top of the list besides art, food, photography, would have to be old antique roses (you know the ones with their fragrant perfumes, the ones that fill the whole room with their scent, and make you turn, stop, and smell the heart of a rose) china, white linen, the Victoriana Era, crystal, silver, and vintage hats and boxes…ok, the list is long. Back to the point of this new addition to the china section. I was cast under a spell, to a discounted sale of items in a shop…I wanted not to buy, but just couldn’t resist this trio, Royal Albert, Bone China, Old Country Roses, Ruby Collection – Yellow Rosebud, Made in England, which is even rarer these days to find. An hour or maybe two passed and yes, I had a number of new additions to my collections. So this …

TT – The Happy Heart eDition

Striking Pinks Original photo: Yvettes Twistedvines + kkhappy heart texture. For the last month I have been receiving a ‘daily truth from the Brave Girls Club’. By subscription you receive each day a free gift of words, and I so wanted to share these words with you…and share a happy heart with me. Dear Sweetheart Girl,When living a brave and uncommon life, things are never going to be the same, ever. We are constantly learning the new ways to do things, and the best ways to do things. We are often surviving through broken heartedness and growing stronger to get us to the next path of growth. We are always seeing new and beautiful things, and extracting the gifts, lessons and beauty out of everything, including the painful parts. We are always always always becoming, always. We were never meant to stay stagnant. We were never meant to “arrive” and to stay in the same place forever. Life’s greatest joy comes in creating and being a creation, in creating things that did not exist before …

Advent Cheer

Theirs are the little fingers, who can’t yet tie a bow, theirs are the smiles that you see with sparkle in their eyes, theirs are the cheers at the time of play…a little group of friends who each Sunday we meet and say a little prayer together, play a little song, sing and dance together and learn and listen to stories. The past couple of months I have been teaching Children’s Liturgy, a little group of people with big hearts and armfuls of hugs and love…and who have also taught me to take the time, and cherish the ‘ah ha’ moments… Advent is a time of preparation, and the last couple of weeks we’ve been preparing an Advent Christmas wreath for the Red Cross Christmas Wreath and Tree Competition. With so many new and exciting idea’s, we decided on the Advent colour of purple combining tulle, ribbons, baubles and of course some bling, I made these little signs…using hot silicone glue and white paint, the words Peace, Love, Hope (purple candles) Joy (pink candle) and Christ …

St. Valentines Day

Happy St. Valentines Day to you all. Cherished memories of those we love and care for. A special day to show how we’re feeling towards the person we love and adore. Any token big or small is welcomed today. Special charms, roses, flowers, cards, candlelit dinners, kisses, hugs even a smile. What did you do today for that special someone? It’s the time of the year, to celebrate with red. Today I showed a little love by sharing these cute cupcakes. The simplest of ingredients with fine detailing of hearts. And to my special someone… I wrote your name in the sand,                                 but the waves washed it away. I wrote your name in the sky,                                 but the wind blew it away. I wrote it in my heart                                  and that’s where it will stay….   All my love, … have a wonderful day friends, Yvette…x

Color My World

One of those fun memories, popped into my head, an image,a song and there  it stayed for the rest of the day. Maybe,it had greater meaning? It’s a vivid and clear image of when I was younger, visiting my grandparents on their farm, I’m standing around the piano with my cousins singing while my aunty is playing the piano. I still remember the music sheet, with it’s purple cover…”Colour My World” a Petula Clark song. Do you remember it? Oh, you can color my world with sunshine yellow each day. Oh, you can color my world with happiness all the way Just take the green from the grass and the blue from the sky up above! And if you color my world just paint it with your love! Just Color my World. Sunshine yellow Orange blossoms Laughing faces Everywhere Just Color my World. It’s fitting today as I reach another passing year, another 40 something birthday that this song and image came into my mind book of memories. It was a time, fun and happy and though …
