Stop and listen to the music…

Did you actually look up into the sky today, out of a window, and notice natures beauty. Did you hear the birds outside or see the smile on a beautiful face today. If you had the choice to listen to beautiful sweet violin strings for a few seconds would you do it? How would you respond..would you have or make the time to stop? Would your heart smile and your eyes look up and feel the the sweetness of strings playing a melody? Time is precious, yes, but we should all find time to see and feel beauty each and every day… A flowers petals, a changing colour in a leaf, the perfume of freshly ground coffee…or did we just grab that coffee, follow the same route to work, raced because a green light turned red, or flipped because the cue was to long …. I found this article and wanted to share it with you, would you notice something out of place in your early morning routine of getting to work…would you hear the …

Mulberry Joy- Felicity eDition

Helllo friends, Another Texture Tuesday Challenge with Kim Klassen… …and another whirling couple of weeks for me. Do you have those days when you think you have something in the palm of your hand, but really its only in fingertips reach…I know in my mind that lifes little triggers of wisdom come from lifes lessons, we grow stronger, we find our inner selves and voices, and striving for that new job, that new creative thread…these lessons make us grow and become a stronger person. The road is never ever straight, its winding with crossroads, and if we take the wrong turn, we need the courage and strength from the lesson learnt to turn around and start again. Pick up the pieces…and start again. This challenge with Kim was to use one of her fabulous textures: ‘felicity’. It came to mind the Italian word felicità which means joy, happiness and picking these mulberries fresh from the tree was just that. A happy time, full of giggles and laughter, climbing ladders and eating these little morsels …

The Simplicity eDition

Blue Simplicity Original photo Twistedvines + kksimplicity texture + light and shadow adjustments (Picasa3) Blue II This weeks Texture Tuesday with Kim Klassen is the Simplicity eDition, simple as using one of our original photo’s and tweaking it with Kim’s fabulous texture Simplicity. Hydrangea’s have always been a favourite of mine, but have never had them in my garden..these were snipped from the neighbours garden. Just Beautiful, they remind me of my grandmother. Have a wonderful day , friends Yvette…x

The Garden Lilies

The colours of these liliums are just so vibrant, and exhibit light and fragrance to a corner of the garden. The hot sultry sun rays shine on their transparent petals, with hues of white, yellow, purple and oranges. With the music of the whispering wind, they’re like playful bells with outspread ruffled skirts, beautifully stylized and coloured, with grace as they waltz and sway in the breeze. It’s amazing how each flower has a unique pattern and colour and such an intricate flower center. I sometimes feel like Alice, in a magic garden wonderland and find myself within the enchantment of the frame of a picture perfect flower and its perfume. Lost…and whispering! Have an enchanting day, friends Yvette…x Source: Original photo’s: Copyright 2012 Yvettes Twistedvines Etchings – The Pink and White Botanical Print (Circa 1855 Book)  The Graphics Fairy and Wikipedia.

Embrace eDition

Don’t fear change – embrace it.                                            Anthony J. D’Angelo Busy Bee Macro Photo Twistedvines + Embrace Texture by Kim Klassen We all fear the unknown, we all have our routines. And wouldn’t it be a boring place if we knew everything that was going to happen to us. How do we stay focused on the many wonderful things we have and then have lost. Gone, in a moment. Another moment gone by – lost in the past. What happened in that moment – I had control of my life, and can only do what I feel right to do in each moment. Our approaches to moments in time become our life. Can that next moment be an empty space, or maybe we should just   e m b r a c e  it as its own mystical place. How many times have you thought of something new, a new idea, heard a new voice and grasped that moment, that thrill or spark to reach for the unknown and embrace the moment. Our past experiences …

focus

I’m not going to write bucket lists, wish lists, long lists…I’m going to write one word FOCUS …this is my word for twentytwelve. Every time I do something, that inner voice within is going to remind me of my word..focus..on the creative side, on the things I love to do, write and say. However many times things may seem blurred in my mind, with my eye’s I can focus, breath and grow. Moving into a new year, I’m back into the swing of Texture Tuesday with Kim Klassen. This weeks theme is ‘nice and easy’, that’s the way we gently ease ourselves into linking each week at the cafe …what will be a year of creativity, new beginnings and lots of learning for me with my photography. Linking to the cafe here Have a great week everyone, Yvette…x

The Year that was, what it was….

Here I am at the end of another year…a year that was, what it was….I’m not sure about how lucky it was, you know all that eleven lucky stuff, but it certainly proved to be an experience of highs and lows. I found pleasure behind the lens of my camera and developing those skills. I continued baking and discovering more and more my passion for the kitchen and food styling, renewed my artistic hand in design again. A talent that truly has been hidden deep within me for so long and only learning again to soar, create and fly on those wings of artistic freedom. I’ve laughed and cried, lost and gained, fought and struggled, but I’m still standing. I’ve made some really hard choices this year and I’ve counted all my blessings. Found gratitude for the little things and Give Gratitude for your support throughout twentyeleven. I’ve found some wonderfully talented people from all over the world around the blogging world, made new friends and travelled the world to catch up with long lost …

Joyful Shopping

Saturday saw the family taking a quick trip for a shopping spree…a quick three hour drive to the Sydney’s IKEA Store…what a blast, there were so many wonderful things to see and so many extra things I could have bought…lots of colours, textures and unique Christmas decorations. With courage I walked out of the shop, (not to say I didn’t buy from other shops..LOL!)with only my gifted lead pencil to write items on my long, long wish list. However one of the items my sister purchased for her living room were these magnificent paper stars…they beam such beautiful light. I so love the reflection of the tiny stars in the windows. Another wonderful texture from Kim Klassen – KKzuzu. I’m been working with Photoshop, learning and developing new skills and this one my friends is challenging. So much to understand and learn. I’m happy with today’s textured photo. Well, my friends we’re counting down..one week to go. I hope to now proceed to the kitchen, and with apron and Christmas spirit make some Christmas clatter of …

See the smiles…

Today was the last Children’s Liturgy lesson for twentyeleven. A day where we had so many smiles, laughing, joy and twinkling eyes. Singing jingle bells, hitting the high notes and counting down to that special day. The children were even more happy when we told them that all their hard work of painting and gluing had seen us reaching success as the winners in the local Red Cross Christmas Competition. This is our Advent wreath, bright purple ,pink and white candles, painted fingerprint baubles of our class students lots of tulle and ribbon. A wonderful achievement and one I’m very proud of. Looking forward to next years lessons and seeing those little faces and smiles…that make my day so much lighter! Yvette…x
