TT – The not necessarily textured eDition

So it’s an anything goes week..in more than one way for me this week. I’ve gone back to study, and I’m feeling positive…and grateful that I have this possibility to take a little time to find a new direction to support and enhance  – ME. “At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.  Each one of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” –Albert  Schweiter Nobel Peace Prize – Winning Medical Missionary & Philosopher.   I’m a reader, and yes most of the time it’s in the comfort of my own space, or in front of a computer, I had thought and still may take another on-line course, but this course I’m taking at the moment has the extra interaction of physically meeting new people and sharing so many aspects of ‘classroom’ social interaction. I found a little time behind the lens to capture a few photo’s and play around with light and shadow. Have a great …

I’m on a Mission

Day 1 & 2  Behind the Scenes “When you have something to write, get on with it.” So, that’s what I have intention of doing, just going with the flow. I’m participating in Kims & Xanthes Behind the Scenes: A creative guide to blogging your Passion on line course. With Kim & Xanthe at my side, we’re part of a group of innovative and creative souls. Inspiration flowing from all over the world. We’ve only just started, but there’s such enthusiasm and strong energy I know I’m going to enjoy this journey. As I’ve been only blogging for a couple of years, ‘blogging’ was a means of communicating with family and friends, of showing them where I lived in Italy, sharing my new culinary cuisine and the extreme climate changes, so different of what I was used to in Australia. Moving to another country has really ‘changed’ me, in so many ways. I have said it before and still to this day, moving to another country, with a different language, customs and politics wasn’t easy, …

The Balance of Life

“There is a little secret something so amazing, so miraculous and so wonderful that we should share it with everyone we know once we learn it. The secret is that there is nothing that others can do to really hurt us from the outside when we do not allow our own thoughts to hurt us on the inside. Once we take care of what is going on inside of our minds and our hearts and our souls, anything that tries to come at us from the outside simply can have no influence on our life.”                  Bravegirls Club

Marshmallow Velvet Cake

Hello Lovelies, I’ve really missed these times of creating in the kitchen, and believe it, this is my first recipe of the year. A wonderful ‘fluffy’ start to the countdown to our most chocolaty time of the year – Easter. My mind is whirling with recipes and creative threads for Easter, and time allowing I hope to show you a few in the upcoming days and weeks…It’s not long so that means for us here in the southern hemisphere our first holiday break. And I’m so looking forward to it! Marshmallow red velvet cake, smothered in mascarpone frosting, half with coconut and the other with mini white marshmallows. Served with Arabic coffee. This truly is a luscious moist velvet cake recipe…

TT – The Happy Heart eDition

Striking Pinks Original photo: Yvettes Twistedvines + kkhappy heart texture. For the last month I have been receiving a ‘daily truth from the Brave Girls Club’. By subscription you receive each day a free gift of words, and I so wanted to share these words with you…and share a happy heart with me. Dear Sweetheart Girl,When living a brave and uncommon life, things are never going to be the same, ever. We are constantly learning the new ways to do things, and the best ways to do things. We are often surviving through broken heartedness and growing stronger to get us to the next path of growth. We are always seeing new and beautiful things, and extracting the gifts, lessons and beauty out of everything, including the painful parts. We are always always always becoming, always. We were never meant to stay stagnant. We were never meant to “arrive” and to stay in the same place forever. Life’s greatest joy comes in creating and being a creation, in creating things that did not exist before …

Mulberry Joy- Felicity eDition

Helllo friends, Another Texture Tuesday Challenge with Kim Klassen… …and another whirling couple of weeks for me. Do you have those days when you think you have something in the palm of your hand, but really its only in fingertips reach…I know in my mind that lifes little triggers of wisdom come from lifes lessons, we grow stronger, we find our inner selves and voices, and striving for that new job, that new creative thread…these lessons make us grow and become a stronger person. The road is never ever straight, its winding with crossroads, and if we take the wrong turn, we need the courage and strength from the lesson learnt to turn around and start again. Pick up the pieces…and start again. This challenge with Kim was to use one of her fabulous textures: ‘felicity’. It came to mind the Italian word felicità which means joy, happiness and picking these mulberries fresh from the tree was just that. A happy time, full of giggles and laughter, climbing ladders and eating these little morsels …

The Garden Lilies

The colours of these liliums are just so vibrant, and exhibit light and fragrance to a corner of the garden. The hot sultry sun rays shine on their transparent petals, with hues of white, yellow, purple and oranges. With the music of the whispering wind, they’re like playful bells with outspread ruffled skirts, beautifully stylized and coloured, with grace as they waltz and sway in the breeze. It’s amazing how each flower has a unique pattern and colour and such an intricate flower center. I sometimes feel like Alice, in a magic garden wonderland and find myself within the enchantment of the frame of a picture perfect flower and its perfume. Lost…and whispering! Have an enchanting day, friends Yvette…x Source: Original photo’s: Copyright 2012 Yvettes Twistedvines Etchings – The Pink and White Botanical Print (Circa 1855 Book)  The Graphics Fairy and Wikipedia.

Embrace eDition

Don’t fear change – embrace it.                                            Anthony J. D’Angelo Busy Bee Macro Photo Twistedvines + Embrace Texture by Kim Klassen We all fear the unknown, we all have our routines. And wouldn’t it be a boring place if we knew everything that was going to happen to us. How do we stay focused on the many wonderful things we have and then have lost. Gone, in a moment. Another moment gone by – lost in the past. What happened in that moment – I had control of my life, and can only do what I feel right to do in each moment. Our approaches to moments in time become our life. Can that next moment be an empty space, or maybe we should just   e m b r a c e  it as its own mystical place. How many times have you thought of something new, a new idea, heard a new voice and grasped that moment, that thrill or spark to reach for the unknown and embrace the moment. Our past experiences …

The Year that was, what it was….

Here I am at the end of another year…a year that was, what it was….I’m not sure about how lucky it was, you know all that eleven lucky stuff, but it certainly proved to be an experience of highs and lows. I found pleasure behind the lens of my camera and developing those skills. I continued baking and discovering more and more my passion for the kitchen and food styling, renewed my artistic hand in design again. A talent that truly has been hidden deep within me for so long and only learning again to soar, create and fly on those wings of artistic freedom. I’ve laughed and cried, lost and gained, fought and struggled, but I’m still standing. I’ve made some really hard choices this year and I’ve counted all my blessings. Found gratitude for the little things and Give Gratitude for your support throughout twentyeleven. I’ve found some wonderfully talented people from all over the world around the blogging world, made new friends and travelled the world to catch up with long lost …

TT – The Gratitude eDition

I’m enjoying every minute of my new adventures, and today I give gratitude to those wonderful creative women I have met on this journey. Kim Klassen is one of these ladies, she’s always willing to give you an extra helping hand, with her wonderful textures and artistic skills. Catch Kim over at the Cafe here..with her captured photo today I could only wish that I could be closer to have that coffee with her. The enchanting moments of my new course The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design…has opened my eye’s to the wonderful world of patterns and colour. Rachael Taylor and Beth Nichols are extraordinary women, who for the past three weeks have had me on a new cloud and following a rainbow. Seeking new designs with nature and making me think outside the box of pattern and colour. It hasn’t been a smooth rainbow ride, but some magical carpet is taking me on a new adventure. These talented twosome are overflowing with information and the wonderful group of energized participants are all …
